Thank you so much for your amazing hospitality! Your thoughtfulness really helped to make our stay special. We really appreciated having all this space to ourselves as opposed to being in a crowded hotel or resort. It made a great hideaway for honeymooners! We had fun swimming, snorkeling, hiking and just plain relaxing (and listening to the rain)! Your thoughful gift of Christmas goodies was so kind – you would never get personal touches like that at a fancy resort! We so enjoyed our stay – thank you for all you do!

We loved staying at your beautiful home and enjoyed the view, tropical fruit, and many other items made available. We had a great vacation and did a lot of fun activities. We voted, and the East Island Excursions was the highlight of the vacation. We also went to El Yunque, had lechon at Guavate, took in the sights in Old San Juan, laid out at the Luquillo Beach, and had many great meals. We will certainly recommend Coqui's Hideaway to our friends & family. We hope we can visit again!

We had a great time staying at Coqui's, which has a beautiful view, lush gardens and every amenity one could need. We really enjoyed our breakfasts on the deck and several sunsets by the pool. During our stay, the highlights included eating lechon in Guavate, lazing around on the beach in Luquillo, and hiking the El Yunque trail to the overlook at the top. Our recommended eateries are Lolitas (past Luquillo on Route 3), El Verde (great chicken down the street), El Jefe Burger Shack (Luquillo kiosks) and Marmalade (Old San Juan). Thanks for your advice on places to go and for the welcome basket (great bananas!).

Thank you for helping to make our trip such a success. We had a wonderful time — helped (not in small part) by your guidance as well as by the poolside dining. We've been inspired to bring our family back! Thanks for a beautiful stay.

As we arrived to Puerto Rico, we already knew we were in paradise. The worst part of it was just the wait at the car rental facility, but after we got our car we tried El Verde Bar & Restaurant and our frowns turned upside down. The food was amazing and to top it off we were escorted over to Coqui's Hideaway. When we arrived and saw the beauty of it all, we were so happy we had made the right decision. We we entered the house our jaws dropped, now we were definitely in paradise. The pictures on the web site do not give this place justice. I couldn't stop thinking how clean this place is, and the attention to detail was amazing. The next day, we gave ourselves a tour around the grounds, the beauty of the flowers, the plants, fruit trees, nature in general were just extraordinary The property was so gorgeous. Our favorite part of the property was the pool. My daughters really enjoyed themselves and our oldest daughter Alexandra (4 years) became so confident swimming. During our stay, we went to Moisty Skate Park, Guavate, Arecibo, Bayamon, the Rio Piedras Market, Pinones, Old San Juan, ate at so many local cuisines, visited different beaches and treated ourselves to some fancy restaurants. All in all, this was a great vacation. Thank you so much, Ray & Gwenn, for your amazing hospitality. We will definitely be staying here when we return to Puerto Rico.

We got here Monday afternoon after careful negotiations of the roads. Some men at Enterprise told us we would have to have GPS systems in order to get around the island, and we were a bit worried, but it turned out that (with) a little common sense and some map reading everything was a breeze. We kayaked out to Monkey Island (an effort for a 70-year old man like me in 4' waves) and found it enjoyable (for my son who is 27). We rode Segways in Old San Juan and that was a very satisfying afternoon since we also got to see the Old San Juan fort. Then we had a pleasurable dinner that evening in Old San Juan (rather expensive though). The next day, we rode the ziplines in El Yunque and had a great time. There were 8 of us on the adventure and everyone did rather well. The only hard part was the climb up — approximately 600' on a 65° incline. After that, and on the last day, we took the 2½-hour ride to Arecibo to see the caves. They were impressive but a little time-consuming. We had more fun going to the public cave that was a little more dangerous, but fun. All in all, we had a great time and staying at Coqui's Hideaway was the best.

We enjoyed our stay and find that you have this business well under control. We have stayed at many condos and have never had the basic food stuff & a welcome basket for our enjoyment. We enjoyed the local food as wel as fixing our own meals in your paradise you gratiously share with others. Thank you for sharing your fruits of your labors as well. We enjoyed the bananas, avacado, grapefruit, rambutans and starfruit. We went to El Yunque one day. To Luquillo beach another day — great local food there. The people are very friendly here and that always makes for more enjoyment. We went to Old San Juan — what a great place. The forts are magnificent. The best food we had was in Dorado at the restaurant called La Terraza. It was about an hour drive, but it was nice. Our son and daughter-in-law were here six years ago and recommended the restaurant. We had a great family vacation.

We really enjoyed staying at your house. The beautiful gardens, pool area and very comfortable house made our trip special. Your advice and helpful suggestions were much appreciated; in particular, the organization of our dive was great. Thank you so much! We drank all the rum and beers, and ate all the fruit supply … it's a good sign! Again, thank you for everything. We won't hesitate to recommend Coqui's Hideaway to our friends and family.

Thanks a lot. We had a wonderful time at Coqui's Hideaway. The house is very clean. We loved the garden. We loved the fresh fruit and beautiful flowers. We enjoyed the pool and the beautiful view. In the dark, we went outside for adventure, looking for coquis. Kirsten liked to practice her English talking to Ray and Gwenn. We enjoyed our trail to Juan Diego Falls. We even had a swim. El Yunque was very beautiful. We went to Old San Juan and visited El Morro. We also visited the Children's Museum. We went to the shopping malls. Everything's a lot cheaper than at Curacao! And there's so much choice. Our luggage is heavy now! We went to Moisty Skate Park and enjoyed the waterslides, the pool, go karts and pony rides. We hope to come back to Puerto Rico again. We loved Coqui's Hideaway!

We really appreciated your terrific DVD collection and the use of the laptop, especially since all our plans and excursions were canceled due to the heavy rains during our entire stay. It was really great to have all this space versus a hotel room, especially since we spent much of it indoors. I was able to read in one room, while my husband napped in another and the boys watched videos. We need to have a "do-over" trip back so we can explore this beautiful property and the rain forest. Thank you for all your attention to details, the lovely basket of treats, gorgeous flowers, gracious hospitality and lovely clean home. We are sorry not to have met Gwenn and hope to see her in our "re-do" trip one day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lovely Coqui's Hideaway. We loved dining on our back porch and ending our days swimming in the pool. El Yunque was beautiful - we hiked & swam & saw lots of waterfalls. We had fun horseback riding at Hacienda Carabali. Enjoyed a relaxing day at Playa Monserrate - we rented kayaks there, which was fun. We had lots of delicious foods & batidas & pina coladas at the kiosks. It is hard to say goodbye.

Thank you so much for creating this paradise. Our 3 nights wasn't enough time here. The welcome basket was wonderful. I really enjoyed the Piña Colada by the pool. The kids loved the pool. What a view. We could spend all day there. All we needed to bring was our clothes, everything else was taken care of. I loved the fact we could wash all the wet stuff before we head home. Ray - the kids enjoyed the trail to the "secret waterfall". Thank you for taking us there. Old San Juan on July 4th was hopping with all kinds of music & dancing. The biobay kayaking trip was unbelievable. Besides the pool, the kids loved all the DVDs, TV and especially the internet services. Thank you again.

We had a wonderful time at Coqui's. I was so impressed at the cleanliness and attention to detail. The welcome basket was such a nice touch and all the fresh tropical fruit was a treat. We hiked El Yunque, hit the beach and went on the biobay swimming tour. We swam in the pool at night, crashed and watched movies, and enjoyed breakfast on the veranda. We ate the local food from El Verde Restaurant and from the local kiosks down by the beach in Luquillo. It was all fun and memorable. The most memorable moment for me was having lunch at the end of a rock spur near the top of El Yunque. I felt as though I was on the top of the world. I love Coqui's Hideaway and Puerto Rico!

Everything at Coqui's was great, including the coquis, Maya the chihuahua, the food and the house. The property is beautiful and the flowers are like none I've ever seen before. I love the Coqui's Hideaway! The landscape is beautiful and the house is better. The gift basket was the perfect touch. From El Yunque to the smallest coqui frog, this place ROX! Maya the chihuahua is so cute and loving. I LOVED everything except the "spider bus" at the biobay. The fresh fruit was better than any other fruit I've had. This may not be a 5-star hotel, but it belongs in there.

We loved Coqui's Hideaway — once we found it in a torrential downpour, but I guess you're used to that! We loved everything here so much the kids just wanted to stay here all the time! Thank you for the flowers, fruit, gift basket and everything — especially the detailed recommendations. We recommend El Jefe at the Luquillo kiosks, too. We're off now to San Juan & Vieques, but this has been the best!

Thank you so much for your warm and thorough hospitality. During our honeymoon, we felt as though our every needs was met. Thanks so much for the food and entertainment recommendations — they were spot-on. We loved all the homey amenities, including the pool, the special treats in the basket, the movie selection. We had a hard time leaving! However, the biobay was a must-see and we were so glad you recommended it so enthusiastically! Your grounds are beautiful and awe-inspiring, and a real treat to explore! Thank you a thousand times over! You are wonderful hosts!

This was a wonderful end to our vacation. This is truly a high-note. The sights, sounds and smells here only enhance the best things about your place — "The First Impression". Your attention to details, the directions and knowledge you share and provide is priceless. This and Alaska were two of the best vacations ever. Ray & Gwenn and your pets made us feel right at home. Before arriving at Coqui's Hideaway we were ambivalent about returning to Puerto Rico for vacation when there is so much of the world to see. Now ... we will definitely be back and come here to stay. Your place exceeds expectations and any description on the internet. Thanks for your hospitality and helpfulness. You have done an amazing job. Who would have thought that when we found Ray & Gwenn's slice of heaven on the internet in August 2009 that it was going to be actually better than it sounded? After years of staying in condos, hotels & VRBO's — this place is head and shoulders above them all. Of course, the hospitality and welcoming atmosphere that Gwenn and Ray create is unmatched. Ray & Gwenn's Day Trips advice was invaluable — we did Erin Go Braugh, Acampa, hiking El Yunque rain forest. All of those activities were outstanding & we thank them for doing all the leg work and sharing the info. The favorite part for us was eating supper and relaxing at the pool. The vistas & scenery from here is breathtaking. Above all, Ray & Gwenn have made their place feel like "our" place — which it was for 6 glorious days. We will be back & there is not another place on the entire island we would rather be.

We were so glad to be here while it was in the 40s in Kansas. Your website had us well prepared. We loved all the acreage and all the beautiful tropical flowers. We took 100s of pictures. We appreciated you being available for any questions or directions needed to get to the fun activities. It was like having our own personal tour guide. We know our son LOVED the personal guide going through "your forest" and discovering the waterfall (Ray took us).The week went fast. We enjoyed grilling most of our own meals and even eating by the pool one night. The weather was in the 90s, with no rain. This allowed us to visit Old San Juan, El Yunque, and the Luquillo & Seven Seas beaches 3 times. And, our final night, we enjoyed they bio-bay excursion. By chance, we ended signing up for the electric boat tour you described in your notebook. It was really relaxing that we were glad not to be paddling one of the kayaks. Thank you for the welcome basket of goodies when we arrived. Ray even drove down to meet us at El Verde when we arrived after dark our first night. We feel like we have mastered your road up & down. It was great to be "part of the Puerto Rican neighborhood" versus staying in a tourist hotel. It was great for a family with two teenagers. It was also helpful to subscribe to your blog PuertoRicoDayTrips.com. It helped to organize our stay. Well, back to Kansas in time for a LATE winter storm warning. Expecting 5"-8" of snow!

Thanks for a great vacation place! Your attention to detail & extra thoughtfulness ("re-supply" of grapefruit & bananas) is just outstanding. Due to the non-cooperative weather, we'll have to return to do the outdoor activities! But, we found lots to do, making us museum experts, among other things. No question we will be recommending Ray & Gwenn's Coqui's Hideaway. Next time, we'll add in more time just to soak in the ambiance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Coqui's Hideaway! It was exactly the kind of place that we were looking for (and more)! Our 15-day vacation began with all 6 of us (our son & his girlfriend, our daugther & her fiance, my wife & I) taking a family cruise on the Carnival Victory, Jan 31 - Feb 7. It was an "action-packed" cruise with a different port of call every day! We just knew that we'd be tired out after traveling and accommodating the younger generation's pace! LOL We really appreciated Ray's help in accommodating all 6 of us for 1 night. Thanks to the change in a flight schedule, the "kids" were able to take in the Bio Bay excursion with us on the island of Vieques. We had read Ray & Gwenn's excellent review of it on PuertoRicoDayTrips.com, and were NOT disappointed ... it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We also took a few other self-guided tours during our stay here in Puerto Rico. El Morro is a "must see", along with a meal in Old San Juan, and a visit to Condado Beach. Camuy Caves and the Arecibo Observatory were also interesting and amazing. Closer to "home" here in the north-east were visits to El Yunque, where we hiked the Big Tree Trail, saw the tower and Coco Falls. It was also quite necessary to visit Seven Seas and Luquillo Beach. In closing, I'd just like to say a few more words of appreciation for the obvious effort and care that is SO evident, in so many ways. The accommodations themselves were very clean, quiet, relaxing and private. This was a welcome change to bumping and jostling with hordes of people on the ship and in port. The real delights are in the details ... everything from the web sites to the labeled light switches! The gardens, the pool, the gas grills, even the refrigerator and deck chairs at the pool ... all I can say is WOW! The goodie tray, the banana bread, the beach gear ... and much more! The tour binders, the driving directions ... these are things you don't even expect (or get) at the high-priced "resorts". Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for welcoming us into your home. We think you've got life all figured out! And we really enjoyed our time here. It was, of course, too brief - but we never like to leave the island. It's amazing that we just came from a high-end resort (the Rio Mar) but didn't feel as though we were truly "in paradise" until reaching your beautiful home. There was something truly relaxing, home-like, and heart-warming about grilling at the pool, fixing our meals, and spending family time together at Coqui's Hideaway. You have definitely made this a memorable visit for us at one of our favorite places. Coqui's Hideaway is definitely in our thoughts for our next trip to Puerto Rico. PS - We are looking forward to exploring Piñones on our way to the airport. Thanks for the recommentation! Also, the rainforest was awesome! We did pack a picnic lunch - also a great suggestion! Before our arrival here, we ate at the kiosks & visited that beach - always fun! And we recommend the restaurant Antojito's for great authentic Puerto Rican food - good food, fair prices and a kids' menu. Try the red snapper and crab mofongo.

We really enjoyed ourselves! This is the perfect hideaway, yet close to lots of attractions. We visited Rio Piedras, the Outlet Mall, Ponce (El Vigia Cross and the Serralles Castle), Old San Juan, Luquillo Beach, the Bio Bay by electric boat and El Yunque (Mount Britton Trail). Your guidebooks were priceless! Thank you so much for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful home. We briefly enjoyed the pool and the lovely view, and would have spent more time there but the weather did not cooperate.

What a great way to start the year! The information that you provide & the research that you do allowed us to take part in activities that we normally wouldn't. We loved the 2-hour Segway Tour through Old San Juan, the Biobay Tour through East Island Excursions from Fajardo to Vieques, enjoyed riding bikes on the boardwalk in Pinones, had a great time watching the Baseball Game in Carolina, and (my favorite part) the Yunke Zipline! Thank you for attending to every detail, from the info via email before we arrived to ensuring your guests have everything they need to have everything they need to have a relaxing vacation. We can't wait to return! We have several things we want to do next time, such as hang gliding (I'm still trying to talk my husband into that one).
