Joy to you Ray & Gwenn, and many thanks for hosting our family for the holidazze! :-) Your attention to detail (& anticipating questions/tips) exceeded all of our expectations. We kayaked the bio-bay (some of us took the boat tour - both amazing!), zip-lined, the rainforest, hit all the best views/waterfalls - OMG! Snacks everywhere were incredible, and the Hideaway grounds are beyond breathtaking. I doubt this is our last visit! Our youngest (Ethan/12) was in awe from the moment he woke up to bedtime, and VERY much appreciated the Christmas lights so Santa knew exactly where to find him Christmas morning. Ethan also took puppy rescue to heart and really enjoyed all of the dogs! We really enjoyed the gardens, all of the beautiful fruit & flowers, wildlife & sounds of the property. The pool area is resort-worthy, too! … Over and over we kept commenting on how we couldn't believe that we were staying here, in the rainforest … Wonderful to have found this little gem & that it kept everyone in our family smiling the whole time! (which is no small feat sometimes when all 6 of us get together) Thank you for kicking off our holiday tour of Puerto Rico in 5-star style. We will never forget our time here, just wish it was longer.

What a fabulous spot! We loved the house & gardens & being so close to the forest. We did a few great hikes, and had some perfect waterfall, pool, creek swimming moments. La Coca Falls hike was beautiful - lots of swimming and totally private! El Yunque peak was breathtaking. Finally grilling by the pool - ideal. The 11-month old loved the place, especially the pool and the puppies! I wish we could take one home. Thanks again for a great stay, beautiful place, and special touches (the banana bread & pina coladas ROCKED).

This is our first visit here. We met up with my brother Dave, his wife Beth, and their son Eli. They loved this place so much (in March 2014), they returned for a second visit. The house is very clean, and has everything you need. The view is beautiful! We hiked to the waterfalls, swam in several areas, used the rope swing, and went snorkeling. We saw spiney lobster, flounder, and loads of other colorful fishes. We loved Gwenn's banana bread, and Ray's PR eggnog (coquito). Their adopted dogs are sweeties! We also laughed at their neighbor's African Gray parrot who mimics phones, alarms, etc. We hope to return!

Thanks for another great visit. The new addition is fantastic! We went to Juan Diego Falls, Angelito Trail, and the tower. Also went snorkeling with East Island Excursions. And of course El Verde BBQ (twice). Love the Coquito. Can you email me the recipe? Loved your new dog, too. Wonderful place to stay, can't wait to visit again.

My favorite beach to go to was Steps Beach in Rincon. That was my favorite beach because that is where I learned how to snorkel. My favorite thing to do at Coqui's Hideaway was swimming in the pool and trying new fruits.

Thank you for creating this little piece of heaven . Our family has had the most wonderful experience we could ever ask for. Thank you for directing us to Juan Diego Falls in El Yunque. It was the perfect place for our 3 young children. I was like our private retreat. Breakfast at La Familia was wonderful . I only wish we had discovered that place sooner. We stayed on the west coast before coming to Coqui's, and our kids loved going to Rincon, Isabela, and Playa Montones. Our favorite thing to do at Coqui's was swim. What a view! Thank you for remembering every detail. You have created something truly specia, and we can't wait to return! Next time will be longer!

Our first trip to Puerto Rico, and it was fantastic! Coqui's Hideaway is very comfortable. We especially enjoyed th pool area and the views. Our only regret is not getting a tour of the grounds from Ray. Take the trail to La Mina Falls in El Yunque. Don't be afraid to swim in the falls. Our 8 and 10 year old girls did it. Horseback riding was fun. Golf at Bahia Beach is great if you're a golfer. And we went snorkeling with East Island Excursions – take some Dramamine! I never get sick in the car, but I did in the boat. It was still fun. Our guides on the biobay tour from Pure Adventure were great. The biobay is stunning and fun. I enjoyed kayaking with my oldest daughter. Kayaking through the mangroves was surprisingly interesting. We also went to Luquillo Beach and ate at the Ceviche Hut. Food was great. El Verde Restaurant is very good, and so cheap. Get the carne frita. And the yucca in garlic sauce is unbelievable. One of the best things about Puerto Rico is the people. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, from locals who helped my daughter order a shake at the kiosks, the guides, and just people you bump into. What a great trip!

It has been an amazing experience. The accommodations were great, as well as our hosts. Thanks for the little extras that made us feel special. We enjoyed so many things it would be hard to zero in on one. Just enjoy your Puerto Rican adventure to the fullest, whatever you choose to do. PS – Go to La Familia 2 bakery (by Amigo), it's fantastic! PPS – We went to Vieques to see all the wild horses. GO!

I really enjoyed staying here, and I most liked going horseback riding at Rancho Buena Vista in Humaco. The first day, we went to Old San Juan. I also enjoyed the biobay night tour by BioIsland in Fajardo. I recommend going on a nature reserve trail down there, too. If you like Mexican food, I suggest Lolita's in Luquillo.

This is one of the top three vacation that our family has ever taken. We loved the house with the fantastic view from the veranda and the pool. It was very comfy for our family of five. The banana bread was a nice touch. We visited the rainforest three different times, and loved it. Swimming in the waterfalls, and the tower, were our family-favorites there. We took the kayak tour to Monkey Island as well. We saw 300+ monkeys, and our guide was great. For this trip, I would recommend motion sickness medicine. Bringing our own snorkel gear out to the island was a wonderful idea that we would highly recommend. We saw a shark, pufferfish, and other great wildlife. We also took the Segway tour of Old San Juan. Our guide Natalie was very informative and it was much enjoyed. The East Island Excursions tour to Isla Culebra was a favorite. The water is amazing. You will need motion sickness medicine if you are prone. The beach is amazing there and we loved it. Overall, this trip was a total success! Thanks for the wonderful accommodations.

Wonderful stay in Puerto Rico! We are adventure seekers who were awe-struck with Kalichi Adventures and Culebra Kayak/Snorkel. Thanks to PRDayTrips.com for finding and reporting/showing their trips! Great bakery and breakfast/lunch spot called La Familia in Rio Grande, on the road next to Amigo grocery store. Beautiful property! Thanks for sharing it with our family.

See you next year!

Thanks for another great week at Coqui's Hideaway. Of the 7 places where we have stayed in PR, this is an order of magnitude better than any other. This was our 4th trip to PR, and the first that we didn't have a lot of rain – with or without rain, it is always fun. The forest, lechonera, Balneario Monseratte were fun again. Most of all, we enjoyed the warm PR people.

We returned to Coqui's Hideaway for the welcome, tranquility, scenery, birds, plants, facilities, plunge pool, and much more. We were not disappointed – you have a beautiful place here, and we enjoyed a very relaxing time. Frank was very happy to add 5 new bird species to his list of 25 last time, and will email you an update! Jac and Anne positively enjoyed the plunge pool, the gardens, and the flowers. We hope to come back again.

Thank your for sharing your lovely space with us. We could clearly see all the small ways that you create a comfortable space – right down to the Bandaids in the medicine cabinet! But, more importantly, we loved the private pool, the welcome basket, the gardens, the coquis and the lizards! Thanks also for all the suggestions about what to do. Here is our list of favorites * Food from El Verde, * Beach hopping, * Hiking in El Yunque, * Lolita's Mexican food, * Ziplining – FUN!, * Snorkeling Excursion, * Old San Juan & El Morro, * the view from Richie's. Joe enjoyed our day trip to the dry desert. I was happy we stopped at Copamarina to eat at Las Palmas. I guess I prefer this side of the island. Perhaps it is the occasional rain showers and the rainbows, but I really love the rain forest!

Thank you so much for our wonderful stay. This was the perfect family getaway. The whole family was comfortable and happy. Your place really is a hidden gem. We had a wonderful day at Luquillo Beach. The calm blue water was perfect for the kids. Our second day we hiked in El Yunque. I even went in the water at La Mina Falls! But the very best part of all was the pool and the amazing, and relaxing, views. You guys have thought of everything, and it made our stay super enjoyable. Thank you again for the best family memories. Coqui's Hideaway will always be in our hearts.

This was our second time here at Coqui's Hideaway – this time we brought our daughter Bridget and her wife Julie. We were so happy to be able the enjoy the apartment for a full week rather than just for 2 nights. Loved everything in the area, and that you had to offer. Who knows, we may come back again!

Thanks you so much for giving us the possibility to stay at the lovely Coqui's Hideaway! We all really enjoyed ourselves a lot, and had a great time hanging out at the pool area, having a nice BBQ, and walking around in your amazing garden. Your accommodation is a real treasure, and we will absolutely recommend it to further PR-travelers. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the fruit basket with the homemade banana bread, which tasted great. We also loved the do-it-yourself piña colada! We were happy to spot and hear some coquis in your property, because we didn't see them in El Yunque NF.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and property. We wish our stay could have been longer — there are so many fun things to do in the area, and just hanging out in the house/pool/veranda are awesome, too. The Mt. Britton trail to the tower was amazing, and Monserrate Balneario was beautiful. We enjoyed waterfalls, and the rock slides — such a great family vacation.

I don't think it gets any better than Coqui's Hideaway - it was the cleanest, most well-equipped place we have ever stayed! From the beautiful flower arrangement and welcoming basket, the books of info about the island, etc. Gwenn and Ray have thought of every detail to make their guests comfortable. Their helpfulness and willingness to share their extensive knowledge of the area was exceptional. We loved every minute of our stay - was just what we needed! We will definitely be recommending to our friends and family.

Thanks so much! We really enjoyed staying in Coqui's Hideaway. Mornings drinking our coffee on the veranda overlooking the beautiful grounds was the perfect start to our adventures each day. We loved the Luquillo beaches (especially the waves at Playa Azul), a biobay excursion, zipline with Yunke Zipline Adventure, and snorkeling to Icacos island. In the evening, it was great to come home to our little casita, grill dinner by the pool, and play several rousing games of Monopoly! Special family time together. We appreciated all the extra touches – the welcome basket, delicious banana bread. The Felíz Año Nuevo coquito – Yum! Watching all the fireworks on New Year's Eve was spectacular. You have a treasure here. Thanks for sharing. PS – We all love the fact that you supplied dog food for all our homeless friends!
