This place blew our minds and more. Even though we were only for one day, it was amazing. We wish we could stay here longer, but we have to get going.

After five days in San Juan, we needed every bit of quiet, beauty, and comfort that Coqui's Hideaway had to offer! Thank you for thinking of EVERYTHING that we could ever need. Between the pool and exploring El Yunque, we had a wonderful last two days in PR … including some of the delicious BBQ down the road!

Brooks and I, roommates from Nashville, off on a bit of an adventure. Our 2 nights here have been wonderful. We arrived from Gilligan's Island for a calm night by the pool. Our day here was spent at Juan Diego Falls and Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve in Fajardo. The lighthouse was incredible. Today, we travel on with a morning in Old San Juan, and tours at Bacardi. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

From dogs to humans, it's evident that Ray and Gwenn care about others! This was the first place we stayed on or 3-part trip (Rio Grande, Guanica, and San Juan), and it's going to be difficult for the other 2 places to measure up! By the way, this was our first visit to Puerto Rico, and Coqui's Hideaway left a great first impression! My husband was on a working vacation, so it was nice to have the fresh fruit, banana nut bread, and basket of goodies to share with him. We enjoyed an evening fruit taste testing. The mini bananas were our favorite. The pool should be a rental all its own, as it is amazing. Day or night swims were awesome, but I was particularly fond of our evening swim under the stars! We saw humming birds and lizards by the pool. Due to my husband's work schedule, we were unable to fit a tour in. We did a self-guided tour of the property, and really enjoyed it. Our visit to El Yunque was great. We love the outdoors, and it was a beautiful drive in the mountains. Most of our activities will be done next week when my husband is off work. Looking forward to more exploring!

What a fabulous place! We had a wonderful time hiking in the rain forest, enjoying the waterfalls, seeing the biobay, horeseback riding, and going on the lighthouse conservatory tour, in addition to swimming and enjoying your beautiful grounds! It was a great house for our fmily to stay in, and we appreciate your gift baseket. We would definitely recommend Coqui's Hideaway for anyone visiting this area! Thanks for everything. Just sorry Ray wasn't here so we could meet him. It was also cool getting to experience my first earthquake!

We could not have asked for a better first vacation outside of the continental US for our family of four! Our decision to stay here at Coqui's Hideaway was the best choice we made when planning our trip. Ray and Gwenn have thought of everything you may possibly need, and then some. The grounds are beautiful, and the views are stunning. I especially loved breakfast on the veranda, and floating in the pool in the afternoons. My teenage sons were thrilled with the WIFI, DVD, and game collections. I was so nice to have a home to come back to, and not a hotel room, after a day out exploring. We will never stay in a resort again! The welcome basket (I did not share the banana bread) and beautiful tropical flower arrangement were much enjoyed and appreciated. There is so much to see and do in Puerto Rico, I feel like we barely scratched the surface. This just means we will have to come back. Our highlights were the kayak trip to Monkey Island, Juan Diego Falls, El Morro, Luquillo Beach, the Bio Bay, Cueva Ventana, and eating at the kiosks — El Jefe and Revolution Pizza are both wonderful if you have kids craving a taste of home! We loved all of the food! La Fonda del Jibarito in Old San Juan was a great meal and a fun stmosphere. We had El Verde twice - so delicious and great prices. La Famila Bakery #2 was fantastic for sandwiches to go. Don Pepe was very good, if pricey - th elive m usic and red snapper made it worth the visit. I also drank way too much sangria everywherewe ate. All in all a wonderful trip made even better by our stay in the lovely, cozy villa. We will return.

Thank you again for a spectacular time. As always, the welcome was wonderful! Have to admit that the Piña Coladas were something both Bob & I looked forward to after a long travel day! The master bedroom addition is marvelous. Great job! Looking forward to coming back in a couple of years with the grown kids and grandkid. Thanks for making our honeymoon (27 year ex post facto) a great time!

Beautiful place! We went to "secret" waterfalls by following the locals. They are off the beaten path, but well worth it. We enjoyed walking around Coqui's Hideaway to get up-close pics of beautiful tropical flowers. Thank you for the banana bread and welcome basket of fruits. The tour books were also helpful. We had been using those pages online for both of our trips to PR.

Wow! Attention to details is what we said the whole time here. The gardens are beautiful and tended with love. Loved the welcome basket, and used all of it. Thanks for the binders full of info to guide us. El Yunque is beautiful and lush. Many different options for easy to difficult hikes. We got some rain while here — on other vacations, it would have made us sad. However, not here. Just brought out more of the beauty — frogs, birds, flowers, etc. Sitting on the balcony watching the rain — ahhhh! Enjoyed every minute. Will tell everyone.

Our first trip to Puerto Rico, and your place was a wonderful start to our vacation. We just loved relaxing by the pool, and enjoyed the fantastic accommodations. You and Gwenn are great hosts, and provided everything we needed. Our first night, we went on the Bio Bay @ Laguna Grande. Simply amazing! Our second day, we had a BBQ by the pool and relaxed. We also hiked El Yunque - La Mina Falls, the tower - wow! Our stay was too short, and we are already planning to come back! We'll tell everyone about this special hideaway.

What an amazing trip we had! Can't say enough good things about the beauty of Coqui's Hideaway. Love that they put so much attention to the little details that make this an exceptional experience. Highly recommend El Verde BBQ. Also, Caribbean Trading is a wonderful gift shop nearby. Be sure to check out the East Island Excursions as well (but take Dramanine for the catamaran)!

What a wonderful place. We've been places all over the world, but this ranks top! We enjoyed our stay very much: nice weather (sunshine, and the rain shower in the rain forest). Lovely place, friendly host, relaxing environment. It's been great.

We had an amazing stay here at here at Coquis Hideaway. I could not imagine a better place to stay, especially with the boys. The accomodations are perfect. It was wonderful to have such a great space to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. We will be sure to recommend it to friends back home. Ray, Gwenn, and their little doggies were perfect hosts, and so lovely and kind to our children. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Can't wait to come back again on our next trip to Puerto Rico.

We had our third great week at Coqui's Hideaway this year. This time, we relaxed more here rather than visiting other places. It was great one evening when showers came — we just sat on the veranda and listened to the rain on the trees and the coquis so enjoying being wet. We did go up to El Yunque twice, and it was so nice to be there quickly on Road 9966. A coco frio was good at the first food stand on Road 191, and the view from the tower was great on an unusually clear day. And we also enjoyed the view from the veranda, and just listening to the birds. The new layout is great, and it was fascinating hearing from Ray about its planning and construction. Thanks much!

We had such a wonderful time at Coqui's! Enjoying the pool and exploring the grounds, and all the beautiful botanicals was such a unique experience. At Ray's recommendation, we took a trip one afternoon to Balneario Monserrate and we were in heaven! It's wonderful for young children - very calm water, and when we were there the tide was low, and you could walk out into the water for quite a distance - many people even walked out to sandbars! Juan Diego Fall in El Yunque were quiet in the morning - only 2 other people were there. So if you're looking for a un-crowded experience - Juan Diego is wonderful, though a little challenging to get to, as its not paved (like La Mina Falls). We will definitely be back. Coqui's is a wonderful location to everything, and such a nice space for everyone to enjoy!

Coqui's Hideaway is such an elite spot to stay in PR — I think it was a much better place to experience than a dumb hotel. We loved chilling out at the casa — the pool (grillin' and chillin'), and having a tour of the property — all dope things to do. Despite getting hit by a car in Fajardo (I'm fine though), the days were relaxing and fun. We ate some great grub, and went to rad beaches. Be shure to have a swim shirt when going boogie boarding, because the boards are kind of rough. Wow, like, this place was so incredibly dank — shout out to Puerto Rico — I'm sure to remember it for a long time. Here's some stuff that I can't fit into sentences but were really cool: the pool was amazing (like 10000 super rad wow), snorkeling trip with SS Tobias and Culebra visit = Cool!, pay beach in Luquillo = Nice!, Juan Diego Trail in El Yunque = Groovy! Old San Juan is great. Stop at Señor Paleta for awesome popsicles. Anyways, great story. Ray's the man.

Thanks for a wonderful stay. The house was everything and then some. We enjoyed La Mina falls nearby. The most enjoyable thing for us was mornings on the veranda.

You have created an incredible experience here at Coqui's Hideaway. This is the most organized (yet relaxed) cottage we've ever stayed in. I love it! We echo so many other sentiments of previous guests. Thanks so much for the personal attention when we really needed it! The only way to sum up Coqui's Hideaway is "Practical Magic".

Our first trip to Puerto Rico and with so much to do and see, we'd definitely love to come back. Ray and Gwenn have create such a delightful place here in the rain forest, who cares what the St. Regis or Rio Mar is like. This is the place to be! We especially enjoyed the sounds (birds and coquis), views, flowers, and fruits. The best was the grapefruit, avacados, and coconut. Oh, and the bananas. Thanks to Ray and Gwenn for being such gracious hosts and providing answers to all of our questions. When we asked what a coqui looked like, they instantly presented one to us by reaching into a flower pot. Perfect! The rainforest was great, but your 9 acres was the most enjoyable. How better to experience the area than by exploring the backyard - orchids, tropical fruit for the picking, birds, etc. All in an ideal setting.

My stay at Coqui's Hideaway was a great experience for me. A special treat for me was opening a coconut. And what really makes a wonderful stop is the people - Ray and Gwenn, you are exceptional. This place lived up to its #1 rating on TripAdvisor! Everything was clean, new, and very nicely "appointed". What a treat to arrive to a lovely bowl of fresh PR fruit and homemade banana bread. We loved it! The house was perfect for all 6 of us, and we really enjoyed grilling here and eating on the patio. We spent our days hiking in El Yunque, and snorkeling with Erin Go Bragh. Both well worth the physical exhaustion at the end of the day. Looking forward to returning soon!

Thank you for allowing our stay! We would next time love to spend more time enjoying your property, and getting to know you and Gwenn — we never met Gwenn. Time flies though — our stay was quick! Also, thank you very much for the gift basket and fruits. It was greatly appreciated! I really hope to see new projects on the property being done because, so far, the new works looks great — very nice layout and the back room (the new master suite) is very nicely done. We have traveled / rented at many places, and it is good to see a good property and hosts. Keep up the good work, and always continue the good customer service. ? It is one thing that many renters don't understand that pays off! For anyone else reading this, I'll give some suggestions / recommendations … (1) If you want to experience a deeper side of PR, go to "Cerro De Nandy" but have a Jeep and be ready for a drive into the deep hills / mountains of PR! (2) Ralphs has good Churrasco meat for grilling. (3) Try a Tripleta sandwich where ever you see a sign / food stand / truck. (4) Try El Verde BBQ, it is good PR food - for a quick eat! (5) After passing Ralphs, continue to drive on Route 3 and many stores are around - outlets, WalMart, etc (6) For gifts and homemade jams, goodies, salsas, to to "Caribbean Trading Company" off of Route 3. (7) Always give yourself extra time for longer trips. Ray … nice gardens, great property, good hospitality!

What a fantastic visit - much too short! Ray and Gwenn, you are wonderful hosts: everything was perfect, from the driving directions (a small thing that's important when you're just arriving), to the amazing tastes of Puerto Rico from the garden and the kitchen. Thank you so much! We climbed El Yunque peak, and the clouds magically opened up and gave us a view from the top - a beautiful moment - and then the clouds swept back in again, because it is the rainforest after all. The rangers told us the bottom portion of El Yunque trail is closed by a rockslide, so we took the Baño de Oro trail at the bottom and joined El Yunque trail a bit higher up. Fantastically useful trail and hike descriptions in the white binders - thanks again Gwenn & Ray! We also hiked down to La Mina Falls, and our 13-year-old son found a quiet pool to swin in. The falls itself are pretty crowded near the holidays. The food from El Verde was delicious one night on the veranda. And in an hour just sitting on the veranda one afternoon, we saw so many birds - green mango, mangrove cuckoo, red-legged thrush, bananaquit, Puerto Rican woodpecker, several others, very beautiful. The call of the coqui will be a beautiful earworm for us for many days to come, for sure, calling us back to visit again!

We had an amazing time here. Your guest house is perfect - from the flower to the fruit to the rum (and Piña Colada mixes) to the delicious banana bread. It was wonderful to arrive here after a long trip from California. We loved the property and the pool and the very comfortable house to return to after a day out adventuring. Thank you also for all the great advice on where to go and how to go there. That, in and of itself, is priceless! We hope to return someday.
