It's been an amazing experience staying here. I know everybody says it, but the fruit really is awesome. When else am I going to get the opportunity to try peanut butter fruit, or the one that tastes like a pumpkin (sorry, can't remember the name)? My favorite excursion while here has got be be a day-long hike in El Yunque. We definitely went off the beaten path - slogging through many colors of mud (ankle deep!), high-stepping through razor grass, and bush-whacking along a road. The road had been closed due to a landslide a decade or two ago, and it's indistinguishable from the surrounding forest in parts. We saw nobody the whole way to the main road. It was an ADVENTURE! So it was definitely nice to get back to hot running water, fans, and clean sheets. Thanks so much. It's been awesome. It was super fun.

Wow! These people are amazing in how they have thought of every possible detail. While we hardly used the amenities, we are certainly appreciative that anything we might not have brought would have been fulfilled. Thank you - We'll be back.

Coqui's Hideaway was awesome, even "Survivor Style". We arrived just after Hurricane Irene for our adventure. Ray & Gwenn went out of their way to accommodate us. This was more work than usual for them, we're sure, since we without power and public water for the start of our stay. Many thanks to our trusty generators that got us by. They were alos very helpful in finding us alternative activities since many of our original plans were cancelled or moved. We will definitely stay here again if we return to PR.

We have had a wonderful vacation here at Coqui's Hideaway! The binders full of information were very helpful, and the fresh fruit right outside was delicious. We visited Old San Juan and toured the forts there, which was very fun. We also took a snorkeling trip, which everyone enjoyed! The last two things we did were a hike in the El Yunque rainforest, and the Yunke Zipline Adventures, which happened to be my favorite! We all loved getting up in the morning and taking a dip in the pool because the view was awesome! To wrap it up, we pretty much liked everything about this trip! Thank you so much for being awesome hosts!

Our stay here at Coqui's Hideaway was awesome, we we could have stayed longer! Your house and property are beautiful. We enjoyed your tour of the flowers, and fresh fruits. The view off the veranda is gorgeous, we ate most of our meals there. Thanks for the huge movie collection, that came to use on the rainy days. The gift basket with a "taste of Puerto Rico" was so nice. The "things to do" books came in handy, we really used them to figure out what to do. We went to El Yunque and hiked the Angelito Trail to the swimming pool, the tower, and La Coca Falls. La Muralla had the best Pina Colada, fruit shake. and chicken taco. The kiosks in Luquillo were good, we went to El Jefe. We ate dinner from El Verde the first night. We did the Yunke Zipline tour, which was a really neat experience. We will be doing the snorkeling and biobay after we leave. Ray was such a kind host, and unfortunately we did not get to meet Gwenn. We also went to Old San Juan, did both of the forts, they were really interesting. You get to learn something while having fun. Then went to Senor Frogs down by the port for lunch. Don Q was closed, unfortunately, due to the storm. Hopefully, we will be back here next summer, because Coqui's is an awesome place. Thanks so much!

We really enjoyed our stay at Coqui's Hideaway while we explored this beautiful island. We took advantage of the excursion discounts (biobay kayaking and the Sand & Sea adventure, both well worth the $$!), as well as your lovely pool and extensive DVD collection. I was the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. Your restaurant suggestions and well-equipped kitchen made this a great dining experience, whether going out or eating in. In addition to the excursions, we also explored the rainforest, beaches, Bacardi factory, and Old San Juan — to name a few — with the help of your "Things to do in PR" guide books. Last, but not least, we wanted to mention how much we enjoyed the tour of your amazing property. The flowers and fresh fruit are gorgeous (and delicious). We hope we can stay here again sometime.

I already wish we had decided to stay here a few more days! Your friendly welcome and invitation to search for turtles was such a nice gesture. Coqui's Hideaway is a colorful, cozy, and clean place, and the balcony overlooking the property is just beautiful! It truly is your own, private little hideaway. We spent the day ziplining in the Rainforest, and then back to relax in the pool and admire the sunset. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for the fruit and basket of goodies!

Thank you so much for having us in this beautiful home. Everything we needed was here and all of the personal touches made the stay here perfect! We really appreciated the champagne, and the banana bread was delicious! While we were here, we found the Puerto Rico Day Trips books extremely helpful. We kayaked in the biobay, went on a Mini-boat & snorkle tour, and hiked El Yunque to the peak! One of the highlights of our honeymoon was finding Juan Diego Falls. It was gorgeous, and we had it all to ourselves. We explored Old San Juan, and tourted the Bacardi factory on a rainy day. We also very much enjoyed the pool and exploring your stunning gardens. Everything was perfect, and we hope to come back here again someday.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We truly enjoyed the warm welcome & baskets to introduce us to Puerto Rico. We loved eating at Richie's and taking in the view. We then took in the site of El Yunque foothills via ATV at the Hacienda. We then replenished ourselves at the kiosks! Next was a trip to El Morro Fort. My husband loved every inch of the place, and me & my daughter - not so much. Ponce was a beautiful ride through the mountains, but the town itself not all that exciting after Old San Juan. The crowning ???? of our trip to PR was the electric boat ride to Bio Bay with Captain Charlie. It was an awesome experience, and we were grateful we chose to forego the kayaks. The little down time we had we spent in the pool. What a great trip! Sadly, the time went too fast and it is now time to leave. Another highlight I almost forgot to mention was the personal tour of the grounds by Ray. We loved learning about all the plants/trees and fruit trees Coqui has to offer. This is clearly a place of love for you both, and we appreciate being able to enjoy our time here. Thanks for everything.

This was our second visit to your beautiful home, and hopefully not our last. Everything was as perfect as I remember it. The weather wasn't on our side this week, so I am happy that we were at Coqui's Hideaway, where it feels like a home away from home. We were able to get some much-needed down time!

How many ways can we say thank you! This was an incredible trip, and we owe that largely to you! From Ray's email communication and help picking out excursions prior to our arrival, to Gwenn's champagne on ice (5 year wedding anniversary) and driving directions once we arrived, everything was phenomenal. Our place was awesome, the views were magnificent, and our host (Gwenn was always welcoming and baring fruit). • First full day — (1) Rainforest - check out "secret" waterfall (Juan Diego Falls) (2) Bio Bay Excursion — once in a lifetime experience, bring snacks (dinner isn't good) • Second full day — Snorkeling & Kayaking excursion (Kayaking Puerto Rico Culebra Aquafari) AWESOME! (take bug spray) • Third full day — Old San Juan (El Morro fort was best!) • Restaurant — Lolita's (on Route 3 toward Fajardo) — great Mexican food. We can't wait to come back!

This was our first trip to Coqui's Hideaway and we are a family with 2 small children. The house is very family-friendly and we were grateful for the full-sized washer/dryer, which enabled us to continue cloth-diapering our son. Ray and Gwenn were wonderful hosts, beginning with offering to pick up groceries for us prior to our arrival, to providing dinner recommendations, to making sure we arrived safely by calling when we were obviously taking to long to get there (and we had missed our turn!). We enjoyed the beach at Balneario Luquillo, walking to a waterfall in El Yunque, and horseback riding at Hacienda Carabali. This was a great family trip!

This is our second trip to Coqui's Hideaway. Ray & Gwenn are the most hospitable hosts. They greeted us with a beautiful bottle of champagne so we could celebrate our honeymoon. They are too kind. We did the biobay tour in Vieques (departed out of Fajardo) and it was amazing. It was well worth the $100/person. The food served at the Tamarinda in Vieques is one of my favorite Puerto Rican meals. We also drove to Guavate for the pig roasts. We ate at Los Pinos at KM 17. It was amazing. Make sure you drive all the way to KM 17 of Road 184. A few tips for Guavate ... if you think are are going to walk around, go ahead and pay the $3 to park. If you park at Los Pinos, you must eat there and leave when you are finished. Also, no one speaks English. Be prepared to point if you don't know Spanish. Get there by 11am if you want to avoid the tour buses and crowds. Allocate 1½ hours each way.

Wow, wow, and wow! We love Coqui's Hideaway! Thank you for being such gracious hosts, and for your attention to every detail. So many nice touches, I don't know where to begin ... Certainly the beautifully tended grounds and lovely home are top notch! We love that the Hideaway really is away from it all, but still only a short, fun drive to shopping, beaches, food, and snorkeling (and of course the El Yunque El Portal!). We don't want to leave! We will definitely be back again. • East Island Excursions • El Yunque • Old San Juan • Isabela horseback riding • Luquillo Beach

We all enjoyed our mini-week here — very relaxing and a beautiful setting; quiet too, if it weren't for the night chorus! During our brief stay, we saw 23 species of birds, and many other interesting plants and animals. Thank you for delicious brownies, banana cake, and fruit — a lovely touch.

Shane and I really enjoyed staying here! Getting up here was an adventure all in itself. I've never used coordinates in a GPS before! The views from the house were breath-taking. I think we ate at El Verde Restaurant, like, 3 times ... I just couldn't get enough of that chicken! I think we're going to try to make this a yearly thing ♥

Our second year in a row with you guys, and we didn't think it could top last year ... but it did! Your home, grounds, and particularly hospitality! Your advice, suggestions and directions were invaluable to us. Ellen and I are the envy of our friends and relatives back in WI when we tell them about our accommodations at Coqui's. When we explain the beautiful home, pool, and location — no one can believe it. We share our living arrangements with people we meet on the hiking trails and in restaurants — and then watch their eyes! Thank you for everything, Ray and Gwenn — You are supurb hosts! PS — We pray we can return again. I know if we come to PR — our stay will be here!

We've had a wonderful escape from Minnesota's long, long winter. Sunshine and even a little warm rain is just what we needed. We each picked our favorite activity:
Jackie — the walk on Luquillo beach and lunch at the kiosks
Bill — the sparkling biobay - despite the many modes of transportation
Grace — SCUBA diving off the coast of Culebra
We'll have to come back so we can visit the other side of the island! Thanks for your suggestions and hospitality. We will definitely spread the word.

What a wonderful oasis you have her at Coqui's. The weather was perfect — even with a touch of rain, it was much better than the snow we came from. Our adventures consisted of a day hiking in the rain forest, a day in Old San Juan, and our favorite was visiting the biobay on Vieques. It was also very relaxing to just stay here and swim in the pool. The walks on the grounds were a relaxing part of every day for us, with lots of pictures. Flowers, birds and the coquis being some of our photo highlights. We also enjoyed trying the fruit. Both of you do a wonderful job and have a great attention to the details that made our stay great! We enjoyed meeting you both, and spending a relaxing week here.

Thank you so much! Your garden is beautiful. We enjoyed exploring in it. We went hiking and we did the bio bay kayaking trip. I really enjoyed the three nights we stayed here. Your dogs don't let me get homesick because they remind me of my dog.

Thank you so much, Ray & Gwenn — your home is beautiful and the grounds are wonderful. We enjoyed our three nights on the "east" side of Puerto Rico. Went to El Yunque National Forest one morning hiking, and the Bio Bay at night — it was so great. Explored Old San Juan for a full day. Our feet are tired from all walking we have done. It was wonderful to come back to our little apartment and listen to the coquis chirping! It would be great to come back this way with our children. We are off to Rincon for a week on the beach.

We have loved our stay here! Everything was perfect. So peaceful and we only wish we could stay longer! Your home is wonderful, thank you. And, also, thank you for all the great suggestions on things to do, telling us all about the grounds, and just being such great hosts. The weather was perfect, it will be cold when we get back to Chicago. But as we think of Puerto Rico and your lovely home it will bring warmth to our souls!

As repeat visitors, we knew what to expect. But, what we seemed to have foregotten, but so quick to remember, is the relaxation and calm that comes after being here for just a few hours. Like our last visit, we were here with family and delighted to show them your beautiful gardens and pool. As expected, they were very impressed. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Puerto Rico. And, if you ever have a need to be in Lincoln, Nebraska, you have a place to stay.
