Thanks for 3 great nights at your fabulous Hideaway. So well decorated. So clean. So nice Christmas decorations. So lovely garden. Even a hummingbird! We had a lovely stay, and would love to come back!

What a great place! We had a lovely short little trip out here to the rainforest. Great recommendations, and such a beautiful place. We grilled by the pool one night, and hung out on the porch with a view the other. Thanks for having such a gorgeous place.

How do you describe heaven? Would it include a beautiful view? Would it include beautiful flowers you've never seen, in abundance? Would your heaven be filled with song birds, and an orchestra of life surrounded? A new look around every corner? How about fireflies by the pool, over-looking the ocean, perfect conditions while both clean and raining … rain … In a rain forest? With someone you love? Coqui's Hideaway could very well be how many would describe heaven. I cannot express my gratitude for those that created this slice of "heaven" in a sufficient manner. We could thank you all night, and it wouldn't be enough! Namaste.

I must say we had an awesome time. This was a home away from home. We had a great time. We went jet skiing out in Humacao. Went to see the monkeys. I must say it was a beautiful experience. This is the second time coming to Coqui's Hideaway. We love it here. And the best part is that my father and family members live 10 minutes away. I just wanna thank Gwenn and Ray for having us stay at this beautiful villa.

Ladies trip to Puerto Rico - so much fun! Enjoyed bird-nerding on property and in El Yunque. Visited La Mina Falls, and Mt. Britton - so worth the sweaty hike! Thanks so very much for the piña coladas! What a great place for a 40th birthday! El Verde BBQ - super cheap and yummy chicken! Thanks for being organized, and the hospitality, and the late night pool. We will be sure to give good reviews, and visit next time we visit PR.

Our second time to Coqui's Hideaway! We fell in love with PR & Coqui's Hideaway 2 years ago, but we are back because Ray & Gwenn have a vacation rental like no other! Has everything we need, plus some, for a family of 5. Our "kids", 20, 18 & 16, love having some space, and we love (1) the location, (2) the grounds / natural setting, (3) having everything we need for our "adventures". Equipped for beach, picnics, pool time, and the PuertoRicoDayTrips.com pages have sent us on to wonderful memories! Ray & Gwenn have been so gracious and helpful. This won't be our last time here! Always more to see in PR, and Coqui's Hideaway is definitely the most comfortable, spacious, beautifully decorated place that we have ever stayed! #1 on our list, and we loved every minute!

We had a wonderful time at Coqui's Hideaway. The boys and I enjoyed walking the grounds and picking fruit from the trees. I think the highlight for them was learning how to open a coconut! They also liked the sensitive plant … we have a video of it to show people at home. While in Puerto Rico, we toured Old San Juan, hiked to La Mina Falls, took a kayaking tour of the biobay, and spent lots of time at the beach. This was the boys' first trip to the ocean, and they had a blast! Thanks for an amazing experience. We will be telling everyone we know how great Coqui's Hideaway is.

Thank you for welcoming us into your home, and giving us the opportunity to experience Puerto Rican nature up-close and personally. It was so fun to try the fruit you provided in the gift basket, and the banana bread was delicious and great with coffee. The coquis may be hiding from our sight, but definitely not our ears! Since your property (which is beautiful, by the way) is so close to El Yunque, we were able to visit almost every day of our trip. After a day of hiking, it was always nice to make our way down to El Verde to eat some of their amazing BBQ chicken and empanadas. Luquillo is just a short drive from your property, and that was so convenient for those days you just wanna get some sun! We got a little too much sun! After that, we would alwayscome back to the house and cool off in the pool while looking down at the amazing view. The location of Coqui's Hideaway allowed us to travel from Rio Grande to Old San Juan (love those cats!) and even Flamenco Beach to snorkel/swim with sea turtles! This trip definitely quenched our thirst for adventure!

Thanks for being such gracious hosts, and so helpful with directions and suggestions on what to do and how to get there. We had an awesome time on our first visit to Puerto Rico! We thoroughly everything we did, from visiting Old San Juan, the beach, La Mina waterfall, Rio Camuy cave, Arecibo telescope, and the biobay trip in Fajardo. Hanging out here at the property, and enjoying the pool and scenery from the porch was very relaxing also. Overall, an incredible trip!

It's so easy to fall in love with Puerto Rico, even in such a short amount of time here. From the beautiful waterfalls in El Yunque National Forest, to the waves crashing at La Cueva del Indio. I had a great & relaxing time here, even with the April rains. Coqui's Hideaway is a wonderful place to stay, and I look forward to returning some day. Thank you Ray & Gwenn for your hospitality … and the fruit & piña coladas were so tasty.

Happily, the forecast rain mostly did not materialize. We were thankful to be so close to so many activities. We took a day snorkeling trip to Culebra, hiked the Mount Britton trail, walked to the left side of Seven Seas Beach, and went to a fair down the street at the hacienda. And your grounds are stunning and teeming with birds, lizards, and coqui frogs. Just beautiful. Thanks for your advice on everything.

Great stay! Thanks for the warm welcome and the piña colada! El Yunque trail "Big Tree" was great for kids. We also enjoyed the pool and Luquillo Beach.

I liked the pool! I couldn't swim in the pool. But I could do a cartwheel under water. Thanks!

Today, we conclude our fourth wonderful stay at Coqui's Hideaway. As always, we have enjoyed everything here so much! Gwenn and Ray do a great job with the facilities and grounds! It was very interesting watching talking with Jimmy and his wife in planning some revisions to the fountain area, and then planting a tree. We enjoyed just relaxing here, but we did get out and about some. Yesterday, it was to El Rancho Original lechonaria in Guavate — quite an experience always. Sundays here (get there before noon) are the real Puerto Rico. If you like very loud music, this is the place! Two different bands perform at two dance halls. Again this year, the beautiful 60-ish woman and her partner, a handsome 60-ish man, were there putting on unbelievable dance shows. It is all very family-oriented, with little kids all over, but this couple does some moves that little kids wouldn't understand! Less happy was a visit to El Jefe kiosk for hamburgers. They have a new owner. The service was good, but the hamburgers had way too much salt, and the fries were overdone and greasy. Another notable adventure was a drive south on Route 186, which goes through the western edge of the National Forest. There are no recreation facilities, and the road is not much more than a jeep track, but there are some very pretty falls right beside the road. Thanks Gwenn and Ray for your great hospitality.

We enjoyed staying here, so close to the hiking in the forest! Even though we didn't stay very long, we had everything we imagined, and more! Both restaurant suggestions were fantastic - Ay Bonito and El Verde. We walked the abundant gardens, and fell asleep by the pool. We all slept well, and felt at home. The gift basket was such a nice and thoughtful touch. Thanks for having us.

Thank you so much for a fabulous stay! From a sailboat ride to Icacos, to great hiking in El Yunque, to an afternoon on the beach in Luquillo, it's been a great week so far — and we are so glad we stayed at Coqui's. You even had one of our boys' favorite books on the bookshelf, and movies too. Thanks for all the nice little touches — they really make a difference.

Three generations from two locales (NYC and Burlington, VT) gathered for a relaxing and fun week. We had a terrific time a Balneario Seven Seas & Monserrate (Luquillo), hiking in El Yunque, eating at the kiosks (Terruño was fantastic), and playing endless rounds of Uno. The house was perfectly appointed and we lacked for nothing. We hope to be back! We had a terrific 2-hour trail ride at Hacienda Carabali, and really great snacks at the House of Pastellios at Seven Seas - try the guava & cheese. It's our daughter's new favorite taste combo. We bought a big tin of Goya guava paste and queso fresco to duplicate the taste. We drank too many piña coladas, and thoroughly enjoyed the banana bread and basket of treats.

Had an absolutely heavenly week here, high on the side of the foothills of El Yunque. Gwenn and Ray get our award as the ultimate innkeepers, and we would love to be back someday soon. Ditto to our daughter's words of praise in the previous entry.

Thank you so much for giving us all of the little extras! The banana bread was great, and so was all of the fruit. The extra things you have for us to use were wonderful. Having the beach stuff all ready here made going to the beach a lot more fun. We really enjoyed our time here, and are glad we found this home away from home. We look forward to coming back.

We were only here for a long weekend, but this place was amazing! Ray was very friendly, and we were sorry we didn't get to meet Gwenn. We did the biobay kayak tour Friday night, but we were very disappointed that the bay did not glow at all. No fault of anyones but nature, but our daughter was sad. Spent Saturday in El Yunque, and my husband and daughter went to the peak while I did Juan Diego Falls. We also walked down to La Mina. Pretty, but my whole body is sore from the walking! Sunday we went to Luquillo Beach, and it was amazing! Got messages from home in Maryland that they were getting snow while we were playing in the sun. Not a fan of El Verde, but we loved Boardriders in Luquillo - the shrimp tacos were yummy! Sad to say we have to go home tomorrow, but would love to come back here! The fruit basket and goodie basket were a great welcome. We loved the banana nut bread - wish we had more. Keep up the great work!

Booking our trip last minute, we got lucky to find availability at Coqui's Hideaway for these 2 days. Our stay may have been short, but it was 2 of the most enjoyable days/nights of our trip. We stayed at La Concha one night, and we slept 100 times better here. Gwenn and Ray made us feel like family visiting from out of town rather than tourists, and they have thought of everything for you to enjoy the area as prepared as possible. We absolutely love this place, and are already planning our next stay!
