Ray & Gwenn are selling their property in Puerto Rico, and will therefore no longer be taking reservations. Our closing date is in June 2024, and we will continue to personally host all guests that have bookings through then. We'd like to thank everyone who has stayed with us over the past 17+ years, and we hope that your memories of your time at Coqui's Hideaway are as good as our memories of hosting your families and friends!
We are excited to announce that Kaitlin Andryauskas will be the new owner of Coqui’s Hideaway effective 20 June 2024! Kaitlin has been hosting guests in Boston for 6 years, and has been spending several months a year in Puerto Rico since 2021. Her love of Puerto Rico, the rain forest, and hosting guests is contagious. We are happy to be passing the property into her hands.
Kaitlin is opening bookings from 01 July 2024 - 30 April 30 2025 and would like to give previous guests first dibs on dates. If you would like to book your next stay, please contact Kaitlin at RainforestRetreatsPR@gmail.com. You can also sign up for her monthly newsletter with updates here.
Hi. We're Ray & Gwenn, we're the owners of Coqui's Hideaway, and we (and our 4 dogs & 2 cats) will be your hosts during your visit.
So a little bit about us ...
We moved from New Jersey to Puerto Rico in September 2003 to escape the cold NJ winters. In 2004, we opened the Tropical Flower Farm of Puerto Rico, a grower/supplier of heliconias, gingers and other flowering tropical plants. We don't do that for a business any more … just a hobby.
We purchased our current property in August 2005, and spent a year renovating the house.
During our construction, we reconfigured the east wing of the house to create our Vacation Rental -- Coqui's Hideaway. We started welcoming guests to Coqui's Hideaway in November 2006.
And in 2007 we started PuertoRicoDayTrips.com, our on-line travel guide for all kinds of things to see and do during your visit to Puerto Rico.
We have 4 dogs & 2 cats that are all adopted strays. The dogs are all "inside" dogs, and they spend most of the day lying on the cool tile floor under the ceiling fans.
We've visited Puerto Rico prior to living here, so we've experienced the island from a "tourist" perspective. We can give you ideas for things to see and places to visit. Just ask. We live right next door.
If we can answer any questions for you either before or during your visit, please let us know.
We hope that you enjoy your stay at Coqui's Hideaway!
